Yesterday over 500,000 people were on strike. Teachers, lecturers, civil servants, rail workers and people from almost every part of society have taken part in industrial action in recent months. Earlier this term we debated the future of the NHS, on a night nurses were on strike for one of the first times in history. So tonight, at this time of mass action, we ask the question, are Trade Unions still an effective force for good?
