Keir Starmer wants you to buy a tax fantasy - but this is the economic reality | Daily Express

In his speech yesterday morning, Starmer reaffirmed his election campaign promise that taxes would not go up for “working people”. This is a complete fantasy.
Firstly, what does “working people” actually mean? Is it anyone that is currently in employment? Does it include pensioners? The term is a complete misnomer, and doesn’t tell us anything about what taxes the Government actually intends on raising.
Many reports are claiming that it means no tax rises on income, National Insurance, or Value Added Tax, and any increases would be targeted at big corporations and the super-wealthy. But do taxes ever just affect those at the ‘top’?
